The Seward Department of Motor Vehicles has opened its doors again after closing for almost three months, Deputy Chief of Police Karl Schaefermeyer announced Tuesday.
In mid-April the DMV was forced to close after both of its only employees resigned, who were the only ones trained to operate the department.
Seward Police Chief Alan Nickell said at the time that the pair of employees decided to resign and move away from the community.
On Tuesday, Schaefermeyer announced the Seward DMV is open by appointment for driver’s licence-related tasks, excluding road tests.
To schedule an appointment the DMV can be reached at 907-224-4037.
