A Seward man was found dead on Monday after being reported missing since Sunday afternoon, according to a Feb. 17 dispatch from Alaska State Troopers.
Cody Slemp, 40, of Seward, reportedly went snowmachining on Sunday afternoon and was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. State Troopers in Soldotna received a report that he was missing at about 12:11 a.m. Monday morning, according to the dispatch.
A search party consisting of the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center, the Bear Creek Fire Department and several volunteers was organized to look for Slemp. At around 2:10 p.m. on Monday he was discovered dead in the vicinity of Bear Lake.
Next of kin has been notified, according to the dispatch.
