A Seward resident was found dead in Kodiak by Alaska State Troopers on Friday.
According to a Monday dispatch from the troopers, they were notified around 11 p.m. that a crew member for a hunting outfitter based on a boat had been found dead.
Rubye Blake, a 33-year-old from Seward, was reportedly found dead in the water around 100 years from the boat near the beach when other crew members returned late in the day. Kodiak troopers responded to Uganik Bay and recovered the body.
The dispatch says that foul play is not suspected, and that Blake was the only adult on the boat at the time of her death. Her body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage.
