The Silver Alert activated for Oscar Rookard, 81, has been cancelled.
According to Lt. Ben Langham of the Kenai Police Department, the elderly man was found in the local area in good condition and was returned home to his family sometime between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.
“He (Rookard) was returned home and did not require medical attention,” he said.
Rookard had last been seen on Wednesday and is believed to have left on his own accord, Langham said.
A family member, who had concerns about potential medical complications, made the call Saturday that Rookard was missing.
As of now, the case is still open.
The Kenai Police Department is still investigating the details of the incident, and cannot release anything further at this time, he said.
