At the Soldotna City Council meeting Wednesday, council members reviewed the ballot summary statement for the city’s Proposition No. 1, which will appear in the Kenai Peninsula voter pamphlet for regular elections this fall.
If approved by voters, Proposition No. 1 will require the city to establish and adopt financial disclosure forms and guidelines for city municipal officials and candidates, who will also then be exempt from the requirements of the Alaska Public Official Financial Disclosure Law.
Council members Paul Whitney and Pete Sprague suggested various revisions to language in the document, and the council unanimously voted in favor of the final document.
The statement provides a summary of the proposition, how the new requirements will differ from the current requirements, and how the language will read to voters on the ballot.
