A Soldotna man is facing multiple charges of criminal mischief and a charge of driving drunk after damaging athletic fields at two schools on Sunday.
Alaska State Troopers arrested Austin Jackson, 19, after finding him driving his white pickup truck in circles on the fields at Soldotna High School around 2:41 a.m. Sunday. Upon investigation, troopers also found that the field at the neighboring Soldotna Prep School was similarly damaged, both in excess of $750, according to an online dispatch.
Jackson was also impaired by alcohol above the legal limit, according to the dispatch.
He was arrested and taken to Wildwood Correctional Complex’s Pretrial Facility. Trooper charged him with two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class C felony, and one count of driving under the influence, a class A misdemeanor. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday morning, according to Courtview.
