A 35-year-old Soldotna resident was found dead early Sunday morning.
According to a dispatch from Alaska State Troopers, they were notified around 2 a.m. of someone who was unresponsive at a Soldotna residence. They responded with other emergency medical services and found Jonathon Smith dead.
The cause of death is unknown, the dispatch says, but “appears to be drug-related.”
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has “assumed the investigation,” it says. That investigation is ongoing, and Smith’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
