Applications for the City of Soldotna’s Mini Grant Program will be accepted from July 15 through Aug. 15 and are now available on the city’s website.
The grant program was established to fund civic programs, services, projects and events that aim to contribute to Soldotna residents’ overall quality of life, according to Soldotna’s webpage. Grant awards are limited to $1,000 per recipient per fiscal year.
Programs eligible to be funded through the grant include those designed to improve the quality of life of the community, to preserve and promote the area’s history, to provide basic human needs, to improve health or to provide a lasting end result for Soldotna, among other things.
Programs ineligible to be funded through the grant include those that support a political candidate or issue, religious programs of events, large projects that may take several years to complete or travel requests for groups or individuals, among other things.
Applications will be reviewed by the city’s mini-grant review team, which will then prepare a report to give to the Soldotna City Council. All organizations that submit a qualifying application will be notified via email on the team’s decision.
Applications and required documentation must be received by midnight on the last day of the application period. Applications can be dropped off in person at the front desk in Soldotna City Hall; they can be submitted via email to cityclerk@soldotna.org or they can be faxed to 907-262-4389.
More information about the program and how to apply can be found on the City of Soldotna’s website at soldotna.org.
