Summer fashion
A caribou grazes along the side of the Forest Lane in Soldotna on Friday. The coat of the caribou changes with the seasons. During the summer months, a caribou’s coat is short and dark, while their winter coat insulates the animal with long, thick fur. In between, the caribou’s appearance may seem disheveled as the fur transitions, or molts, between the two. (Photo by Kat Sorensen/Peninsula Clarion)
