COOPER LANDING (AP) — A 15-year-old Eagle River girl died Thursday in a rollover crash in Cooper Landing.
Alaska State Troopers say Megan Frenzel was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle driven by 36-year-old Adam Ferguson at Mile 45 Sterling Highway.
Troopers say the SUV, pulling a trailer, was driving north just before 2:30 p.m. when the trailer hit the gravel shoulder.
The trailer pulled the SUV off the road and it rolled down an embankment.
Frenzel sustained serious injuries. Responders administered CPR but she died at the scene.
Troopers say other passengers in the SUV did not sustain serious injuries.
