Troopers investigating Soldotna shooting death

An investigation into the incident by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Soldotna Major Crimes Unit is active and ongoing

The Alaska Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that occurred last week in Soldotna, the agency announced Tuesday.

According to a dispatch from the Alaska State Troopers, troopers responded on June 6 at about 9 p.m. to reports of a shooting in Soldotna. Upon arriving at the scene, troopers found Shaun Perry, 43, of Soldotna, dead of a gunshot wound, the dispatch said. Perry’s body has been sent to the Alaska Medical Examiner’s Office and his next of kin have been notified.

An investigation into the incident by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Soldotna Major Crimes Unit is active and ongoing, the dispatch said.
