Two people died early Tuesday morning in a fire that engulfed their mobile home.
Alaska State Troopers responded just after 2:17 a.m. to a report of a fire off Funny River Road in Soldotna, troopers wrote in a dispatch. Central Emergency Services and Homer Electric Association, Inc. also responded.
“Once the fire was suppressed, CES conducted a search and located two bodies,” Troopers wrote in the dispatch.
The bodies were not identified and will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified and autopsied, troopers wrote.
The Deputy Fire Marshal from Anchorage came to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire, which is still under investigation, according to the dispatch.
Central Emergency Services sent 23 firefighters to fight the mobile home blaze, as well as two engines, two tankers an ambulance and a support squad, according to a release from CES.
