Alaska State Troopers have identified the victim of a shooting during a home invasion near Soldotna on Sunday night.
Soldotna resident Daniel Arthur Galloway, 49, was positively identified as the person who died that night, according to an online troopers dispatch.
“An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of gunshot wounds,” troopers wrote.
Troopers in Soldotna were called to the scene of a home invasion and shooting just before 9 p.m. Sunday south of Soldotna. Central Emergency Services also responded and at that point took one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The case has been taken over by the Alaska Bureau of Investigations, a branch of the troopers, and is still under investigation according to the dispatch. On Monday, troopers updated their original dispatch report to announce the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The Alaska Bureau of Investigations has not authorized troopers to release any additional information at this point, said Alaska State Troopers Public Information Officer Megan Peters in an email.
