Alaska State Troopers reported another car accident fatality over the weekend, marking the fifth traffic death on the central Kenai Peninsula in the span of eight days.
Nancy Christiansen, a 60-year-old from California, was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle wreck Sunday evening.
Troopers reported that Christiansen crossed the center line in her 2019 Hyundai and collided with Heather Turkington, of Clam Gulch, in her 2016 Nissan Murano. Christiansen then crashed head-on into Henry Kurgan of Anchorage, in his 2016 Chevrolet pickup.
Turkington reported no injuries and Kurgan and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
Troopers didn’t immediately respond to requests for more information about the wreck. According to the dispatch report, the circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation.
