The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Western Kenai Peninsula.
Eric Drewitz, a meteorologist with the NWS, said the cities of Kenai, Soldotna and Homer should prepare for freezing rain and snow until later Monday evening.
A predicted 1 to 4 inches of snow and around one-tenth of an inch of ice buildup throughout the entirety of the storm.
The most amount of snow is predicted to fall both in Sterling and east of Sterling.
The advisory is set to expire at 9 p.m. Monday night and Drewitz said the weather tomorrow should be drier.
