The National Weather Service is warning of strong winds and significant snowfall from Ninilchik south on the Kenai Peninsula, according to a Feb. 21 Winter Weather Advisory.
The advisory states that visibility may be less than half a mile in some areas from Ninilchik south to Kachemak Bay. Snow accumulation of three to six inches is expected, according to the advisory.
Southwest winds are expected to reach up to 25 miles per hour on the southern peninsula and up to 35 miles per hour along Kachemak Bay.
The NWS warns of hazardous road conditions and urges motorists to drive slowly and use caution while driving.
The advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. on Saturday.
