A wintry mix is expected in Southcentral Alaska through Wednesday as temperatures warm up, according to the National Weather Service.
The warm weather front is coming toward Southcentral, and is causing mostly rain, but also mixed precipitation from Kodiak all the way north to Palmer.
Kenai and Soldotna are mostly expected to get freezing rain, while a mix of rain and snow is on its way to Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna region, according to a graphic the NWS posted on Twitter Tuesday.
It’s supposed to be mostly cloudy on the central peninsula on Wednesday, with a chance of rain in the afternoon and snow and freezing fog after midnight. By Thursday, the NWS reported the central peninsula is expected to reach temperatures as high as the lower 40s.
