Soldotna resident Bonita “Bonnie” Carol Leonard Krause, 75, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Hwy., Kenai, AK.

Bonnie was born Jan. 22, 1949, in Sayre, Pa. She graduated from SRU Joint High School and took courses at Elmira Business Institute. She worked as a Medical Secretary and Outpatient Technician for the Arc in Elmira, New York.

She moved to Alaska in 1986 and worked at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.

Bonnie was a member of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed reading and puzzles.

Her family wrote, “While we will mourn and miss her, we know that she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where she is most likely running and laughing with two very special little girls while singing God’s praises.”

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Grover Sr. and Wilma Grover, brother, Frank Grover, and granddaughters, Jacqueline “Jackie” and Alexandrea “Alex” Denbrock.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Stephen Krause of Soldotna, AK; daughter, Lisa Riley of Soldotna, AK; son, Kevin M. Krause of Kenai, AK; sisters, Joyce Grover-Ellis of Endicott, NY and Connie Grover DeHaas of Elmira, NY; grandsons, Kevin B. Krause of Boiling Springs, PA and Josh Riley of Soldotna, AK; granddaughters, Stephanie Denbrock Soldotna, AK, Kelsey Krause of Kenai, AK, Andrea Dahlen of Soldotna, AK, Ali and Lilly Riley both of Soldotna, AK; great-grandsons, Braylon Starnes of Kenai, AK and Caden Dahlen of Soldotna, AK; and great-granddaughters, Sevyn Krause of Boiling Springs, PA, Harper Landess of Soldotna, AK, Scout Krause of Boiling Springs, PA, and Ahria Snyder of Kenai, AK.
