The Tuesday, June 5, issue of the Peninsula Clarion reported a dangerous incident involving two state troopers subduing a suspect in Soldotna. This was the kind of incident that as reported in national media often results in gun shots and death. The troopers used constraint, and instead of gunfire used an expandable baton and pepper spray to subdue the suspect.
The troopers are to be congratulated for using proper constraint rather than using gunfire that could have resulted in death.
