Aldridge notches win at Freezer Food Series biathlon

The Freezer Food Series had its seventh race of the season Wednesday at Tsalteshi Trails, breaking out a ski biathlon.

Morgan Aldridge used perfect shooting to win overall at 18 minutes, 30 seconds. There were three stations where skiers tried to shoot a ball in a bucket. Each miss meant skiing a penalty loop, with a maximum of two misses.

Jordan Chilson was the men’s winner at 20:04, with Jeff Helminiak finishing second among men and third overall at 20:57. Liz Earl was the second woman and fifth overall at 38:09.

The Freezer Food Series continues Wednesday with a fat bike race of about 5 to 7 kilometers with some possible singletrack. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., with racing starting at 6 p.m.
