Six swimmers from the central Kenai Peninsula competed at the 2022 U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship in San Antonio from Thursday through Sunday.
Angie Brennan, competing in the 45 to 49 age group, finished 15th in the 50-yard breaststroke at 38.99 seconds, 27th in the 200 freestyle at 2:34.45, 13th in the 100 breaststroke at 1:25.16, 21st in the 50 freestyle at 29.92, 15th in the 100 freestyle at 1:08.19 and 12th in the 200 breaststroke at 3:11.49.
Brennan got in the top 10 in the Alaska short course yard records at eighth in the 50 breaststroke, fourth in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 200 breaststroke.
Michelle Turinsky, competing in the 45 to 49 age group, was 18th in the 100 backstroke at 1:24.54, 29th in 100 individual medley at 1:20.81, 25th in the 50 freestyle at 32.28 and 18th in the 100 freestyle at 1:10.50.
Kendra Ashwell, competing in the 25 to 29 age group, was 11th in the 200 freestyle at 2:17.82, ninth in the 500 freestyle at 6:21.45, 33rd in the 100 IM at 1:16.11, 25th in the 50 freestyle at 28.25 and 16th in the 100 freestyle at 1:02.56.
Carolann Barum, competing in the 65 to 69 age group, was 12th in the 100 backstroke at 1:47.84, 22nd in the 50 freestyle at 39.40 and 12th in the 100 freestyle at 1:30.86.
Johna Beech, competing in the 40 to 44 age group, was 24th in the 100 freestyle at 1:45.43, 20th in the 200 freestyle at 4:02.75 and 41st in the 50 freestyle at 46.58.
Daniel McIntosh, competing in the 25 to 29 age group, was 31st in the 100 breaststroke at 1:12.62, 74th in the 50 freestyle at 26.47 and 46th in the 100 freestyle at 59.83.
