Beeson, Aldridge take final Chainwreck Cyclocross race

Brian Beeson and Morgan Aldridge won the fifth and final race of the Chainwreck Cyclocross Series on Thursday at Tsalteshi Trails. The two also finished on top of the series standings.

Mark Beeson, organizer of the series, announced that the series will cease after eight years due to declining participation.

In this cyclocross series, racers compete on a 1.5- to 2-mile course that includes obstacles forcing the riders to dismount and mount the bike. The leader does as many laps as possible in 30 minutes, and nobody starts another lap after the leader finishes.

Beeson won by doing five laps in 30 minutes, 27 seconds, while Nels Dahl did five laps at 33:42 and Aldridge did five in 33:51. Also on the lead lap were Josiah Abel at 34:02, Shane Lopez at 35:43, Jamie Nelson at 36:25 and Elias Black at 37:38.

Finishing with four laps were Jeff Helminiak at 30:58, Tor Dahl at 31:03, David Abel at 31:57, Caleb Abel at 32:25, Will Morrow at 33:24, Raven Smith at 34:56, Dan Keck at 35:35, Cassie Collins at 36:14, Malachi Abel at 37:32, Captain Underpants at 37:40, Derek Black at 37:56 and C.O.
