Boyd wins Tustumena 5K Fun Run

Ethan Boyd was the first of 15 racers to cross the finish line Saturday in the Tustumena 5K Fun Run at Tustumena Elementary School in Kasilof.

Boyd finished in 22 minutes, 1 second, to take the overall win, while Jay Brott was second at 25:08 and Tatum Rozak was third at 27:10.

Proceeds from the race went to benefit student activities at Tustumena Elementary School. Local businesses and individuals making generous donations to support the race were Sweeney’s Clothing, Jersey Subs, United Parcel Service, Maria Sweppy and Tammi Linn.

15 to 19 — 1. Macayla Jones, 36:46.

40 to 49 — 1. Hans Schlegel, 34:17.

50 to 59 — 1. Chrisato Johnson, 29:17.

60 and over — 1. Kristine Moerlein, 29:29; 2. Maria Sweppy, 34:29.
