The Cook Inlet Academy coed soccer team won home games Friday and Saturday to finish the regular season 12-0 in the Borealis Conference. The conference championships begin Thursday in Palmer.
Saturday, the Eagles celebrated senior night by topping Nenana 5-1. The seniors recognized were Ty Saylor, Rachel Johnson, Abraham Henderson, Britt Hall, Trayton Keller and Noah Castenholz. Castenholz and Henderson scored to put CIA up 2-0 in the first half, but Nenana cut it to 2-1 at the half with a penalty kick.
CIA head coach Kenny Leaf said his squad came out and pounded Nenana’s goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Golden Musgrave had his first goal of the season, while Jeremy Dillingham added two goals.
Friday, CIA notched a 6-0 victory over Birchwood Christian. Castenholz had three goals, while Henderson had two goals. After playing goalie in the first half, Jeremiah Dillingham played the field in the second half and added a goal and an assist. Jeremiah and Rebekah Dillingham shared the shutout for the Eagles.
