The Cook Inlet Academy and Nanwalek girls and boys basketball teams will meet for the championship of the Class 1A Peninsula Conference on Saturday, March 1, at Cook Inlet Academy.
The girls play at 11 a.m., with a CIA loss prompting an if-necessary game at 2 p.m. The boys play at 12:30 p.m., with a CIA loss prompting an if-necessary game at 3:30 p.m.
The tournament winners get berths to the Class 1A state tournament.
In the girls tourney Friday, top seed CIA defeated No. 2 Birchwood Christian 46-17 in the semifinal.
That dropped Birchwood into a matchup with No. 3 Nanwalek to get into the final. Nanwalek avenged a first-day loss to Birchwood with a 46-17 victory.
In the boys tourney Friday, top seed CIA defeated No. 3 Birchwood 78-51 in the semifinal.
In the morning game, No. 2 Nanwalek topped No. 4 Holy Rosary 87-37 to stay alive in the tournament. Nanwalek kept rolling by defeating Birchwood 78-57 to avenge a loss on the first day of the tournament.

For CIA, Maria Smith led the way with 16 while Sophie Rozak and Ella Rollman had 7, Clara Warren had 5, Beka Dillingham had 4 and Isabella Porsi had 2.
CIA boys 78, Birchwood Christian 51
For the Eagles, Ian McGarry had 27, Alek McGarry had 23, Brandt Rollman had 13, Lucas Oyoumick and Owen Braband had 4, Matthew Phillips, Zach Armstrong and Hyrum Henderson had 2, and John Guerra had 1.
Nanwalek girls 46, Birchwood Christian 17
