Colony swimmers, divers sweep Palmer Invite

The Colony swimming and diving teams swept the Palmer Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Palmer High School in Palmer.

The Knights girls scored 83 points, while runner-up Kenai had 73. Also, Soldotna had 19 in fifth, Seward had five points to tie for eighth, and Homer was 10th with three points.

On the boys side, Colony won with 81 points, while runner-up Seward had 61. Also, Soldotna was fifth with 30.5 and Kenai was sixth with 26.5.

Seward was the lone Kenai Peninsula school at the meet to win events.

Bengimin Ambrosiani won the 200-yard freestyle for the Seahawks, while Nickolas Ambrosiani won the 100 backstroke.

The twin brothers teamed with Oliver Trobaugh and Iver Gates to win the three boys relays. They took the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
