Kenai Central and Barrow divided up the major awards in Division III All-State awards announced Thursday.
The Kardinals, Whalers and Houston each had 4-1 record in the Mid Alaska Conference, but tiebreakers gave the top seed to Kenai, the second seed to Barrow and the third seed to Houston.
Homer was fourth at 2-3, Kodiak was fifth at 1-4 and Redington was sixth at 0-5.
Kenai halfback Bobby Hayes was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Blake Taplin of the Kardinals, who serves as the offensive coordinator, was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
Barrow’s Uatahouse Tuifua earned both the Defensive Player of the Year and Lineman of the Year, while Barrow’s Chris Battle was the Coach of the Year.
Hayes made the first team at halfback for Kenai. Also on the first team for the Kards were Wyatt Cole at tackle, Elliot Haakenson at inside linebacker, Rohan Hansen at guard, Zeke Yragui at defensive back, William Wilson at fullback, Makai Johansen at defensive lineman and Sawyer Vann at kicker.
First-teamers for the Mariners were Preston Stanislaw at quarterback, Chris Martishev at outside linebacker and wide receiver, and Wyatt Counts at inside linebacker.
