Soldotna senior Wyatt Faircloth announced last week that he will play college football at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota.
Faircloth was named the Division II Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior. In both of those years, Faircloth played running back and linebacker and helped the Stars to a Division II state title.
Faircloth also was a member of the Division I state champion 800-meter relay in the spring.
The Blue Hawks already have former Soldotna players Dylan Dahlgren, Hakoa Montoya, Galen Brantley III and Ala Tuisaula in the program.
Dahlgren was named First-Team Defense at defensive line in the North Star Athletic Association this season. The Blue Hawks went 8-0 in the league to win the conference for the 10th straight time.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, Dickinson State ended its season with a 41-14 loss to Montana Western in the second round of the NAIA Football Championship Series.
