Soldotna High School graduate Sadie Fox nabbed a sixth-place finish in the Under-20 women’s sprint at Junior Nationals in Cable, Wisconsin, Friday.
In qualifying for the 1.2-kilometer freestyle sprint, Fox was 27th amongst Under-18 and Under-20 skiers.
But that was enough to place her 12th amongst Under-20 skiers, meaning she found her way into the semifinals.
Fox was fifth in the first semifinal, placing her in the B Final. She won the B Final and since the sixth-place finisher in the A Final was a guest skier, Fox was officially the sixth-best, Under-20 women’s sprinter in the country.
