Friday hoops: Peninsula squads dive into conference action

The visiting Soldotna girls basketball team notched a 57-47 victory over Kodiak on Friday to move to 1-0 in the Northern Lights Conference and 4-3 overall.

For the Stars, Hope Hillyer poured in 20 points, while Morgan Lemm had 15 and Kaytlin McAnelly added 11. Also, Juliet Innes had 5, Alyssa McDonald had 4 and Anaulie Sedivy had 2.

For Kodiak, Lakisha Sanchez had 23, Mizzy Arbues had 11, Angel Enriquez had 6, Bea Fongonilo had 4, and Amara Timu and Mary Ash had 1 apiece.

Kodiak boys 46, Soldotna 44

The visiting Stars fell to 0-1 in the Northern Lights Conference and 2-2 overall with the Friday loss to the Bears.

Easton Hawkins and Andrew Pieh paced the Stars with 10 points, while Jace O’Reagan and Izaiah Gilbert had 8, Zac Buckbee had 5, Cameron Laroque had 2 and Owen Buckbee had 1.

For the Bears, Kelly Ticman had 14, while Mac Abellera had 12, Aron Paguio had 8, Antonio Basuel had 5, Liam Danelski had 4 and Martin Canaveran had 3.

Homer girls 43, Kenai 25

The visiting Mariners topped the Kardinals in Peninsula Conference action Friday. The Mariners improved to 1-0 in the league and 2-2 overall, while the Kards are 0-1 and 1-6.

Sydney Shelby paced Homer with 15 points, while Channing Lowney pitched in 12. Also for the Mariners, Minadora Reutov and Gracie Miotke had 5, while Juliann Techie, Lillie Mae Kuhn and Kegan Niebuhr had 2.

For the Kardinals, Emilee Wilson led the way with 12, while Ellsi Miller had 5, Alex Nelson had 3, Gracee Every and Avia Miller had 2, and Evy Cooper had 1.

Homer boys 50, Kenai 39

The visiting Mariners topped the Kardinals in Peninsula Conference action Friday. Homer is 1-0 in the league and 1-3 overall, while Kenai is 0-1 and 1-6.

For Homer, Nathan Overson had 13, Spencer Dye and CJ Burns had 11, Lucas Story had 8, Einar Pederson had 4 and Jamen Anderson had 3.

For the Kards, Titus Reid and Ryker Dykema had 10, Zane James, Miles Metteer and Daniel Steffensen had 4, William Wilson had 3, and Ben Harris and Trae Pitsch had 2.

Seward girls 47, Nikiski 36

The visiting Seahawks picked up a Peninsula Conference victory over the Bulldogs on Friday. Seward is 1-0 in the league and 2-1 overall, while the Bulldogs are 0-1 and 1-2.

For Seward, Ava Jagielski and Stella Dow led the way with 11 points, while Robin Cronin had 10, Mikinley Williams had 9 and Natalie Sieminski had 6.

Alexa Iyatunguk and Avery Ellis each had 8 to pace Nikiski, while Maggie Grenier had 7, Emma Weeks had 5, Shelby Burman had 4, and Madison Iyatunguk and Mandee Roofe had 2.

Seward boys 76, Nikiski 38

The visiting Seahawks rolled to a Peninsula Conference victory over the Bulldogs on Friday. Seward is 1-0 in the league and 3-0 overall, while the Bulldogs are 0-1 and 0-1.

Nick Ambrosiani had 19 for the Seahawks, while Emerson Cross and Bergen Davis each had 11. Also, Van Shank had 9, Mason Elhard and Talon Lemme had 6, Ben Ambrosiani had 5, Kupono Albino had 4, Lane Peterson had 3 and Noah Price had 2.

For the Bulldogs, Seth Payne pumped in 11, while David Weathers had 10, Carter Eiter had 6, Dylan Hall had 4, Kameron Bird, Lynn Deveer and Johnny Ralston had 2, and Ryder MacGuire had 1.

Ninilchik boys 68, Glennallen 24

The host Wolverines opened Interior Conference play Friday with a victory over the Panthers. Ninilchik is 5-1 overall.

Kade McCorison had 22 points to pace Ninilchik, while Rowan Mahoney had 18 and Carter Lemons and Max Russel had 12 apiece. Kannon Hughes pitched in 4.

For Glennallen, Ethan Hoke had 8, Alvin Albert had 7, Wyatt Boehmne had 5, and Leve Jones and Jed Jacobsen had 2.

Glennallen girls 49, Ninilchik 17

The visiting Panthers notched an Interior Conference victory over the Wolverines on Friday. Ninilchik is 0-1 in the league and 2-1 overall.

For Ninilchik, Rylie Tucker had all 17 points.

For Glennallen, Cheyenne Fields had 17, Allanna Stone and Teagan Rude had 9, Chisana Korth and Rene Rock-Albert had 6, and Raylie Sutherland had 2.
