Host Anchorage Christian Schools girls cruised to a 74-37 nonconference victory over Soldotna on Friday.
Jordan Todd had 24 points for the Lions, while Mary Kate Parks had 15, Destiny Reimers had 13 and Chaunice Carr had 12.
Brittani Blossom and Aliann Schmidt each had nine points to lead the Stars.
Nikiski JV girls 33, CIA 26
The visiting Bulldogs junior varsity trailed 10-9 after the first quarter but was able to claim victory after that.
Adara Warren had 15 points to lead the Eagles.
Nikiski JV boys 43, CIA 29
The host Eagles were within 19-17 at halftime, but the Bulldogs junior varsity pulled away in the second frame. Hunter Moos had 18 points for the Eagles.
Seahawk Classic
The Seward girls and boys basketball teams both suffered close losses Friday at the Seahawk classic.
The Seward girls lost to Hutchison 33-31 in overtime. Bri Majors had 12 points to lead the Hawks to the win. Riley Von Borstel had 11 for the Seahawks.
The Hutchison boys edged Seward 59-57.
Zen Petrosius poured in a game-high 29 points for Seward, while Case Estes and Connor Spanos each had 10 points.
For Hutchison, Dion Frank had 17 points, Mason Young had 12 points and Ian Nemce had 11 points.
Nenana Invitational Tournament
The Ninilchik girls advanced to the finals of the tournament with a 28-20 victory over Susitna Valley on Friday. The Wolverines had an 18-6 lead at halftime and were able to make it stand up.
Olivia Delgado keyed the run to the finals. Only three players scored for Ninilchik, and Delgado had 20 of the team’s 28 points. DeeAnn White had four for the Wolverines, while Madi Cooper also had four. Dylan Bietsch had 10 points for the Rams.
The Nikolaevsk boys just missed a trip to the finals when they lost 52-45 to Tanana. The Warriors led 7-5 after the first period but Tanana had a 23-14 lead at halftime and was able to hold on.
Zachary Trail had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Ninilchik, while Kalenik Molodih had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Trail had five points and 14 rebounds, while Sage Stanish had three points and 11 rebounds and Lukah Kalugin had two points.
The Ninilchik boys earned a 43-41 victory over Fort Yukon on Friday to advance to the fifth-place game.
Fort Yukon led 15-8 after the first quarter and 25-24 at halftime. But Ninilchik had a 36-35 lead after three.
George Nelson had 12 points for the Wolverines on four 3-pointers, while Tristan White had 11 and Garrett Koch added 10. Also for Ninilchik, Jacob Mumey had four points, Jake Clark had four points and Cole Hadro had three points.
The Nikolaevsk girls also gained the fifth-place game, topping Minto 43-36. The Warriors got off to a quick start, leading 13-5 after the first period, and were able to make that stand up.
Markiana Yakunin had 15 points, while Kristin Klaich had 10 points and 16 rebounds and Elizabeth Fefelov had 14 points and 16 rebounds. Also for the Warriors, Jodie Kain and Justina Fefelov had two points.
