The host Homer softball team defeated Palmer 6-5 on Saturday in nonconference action.
Zoe Adkins pitched all seven innings for the Mariners, who improved to 3-7 overall. Adkins gave up five runs, three earned, on seven hits while walking six and striking out nine.
Adkins also went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI at the plate.
Emily Owens also had a big game for Homer, going 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI.
Also for Homer, Ari Davis had a run and a hit, Kaylin Anderson had a run and a hit and Delilah Harris had a run and a hit.
