The host Homer softball team defeated Soldotna 23-15 in five innings Tuesday in Northern Lights Conference play.
The Mariners move to 6-2 in the league and 11-17 overall, while the Stars fall to 4-5 and 8-9.
Zoe Adkins went all five innings for Homer, giving up 14 runs — 10 earned — on seven hits while walking 11 and striking out five.
At the plate, Ari Davis was 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs, Adkins was 3 for 4 with four runs and five RBIs, Kaylin Anderson had three runs, Delilah Harris had two runs, Becca Trowbridge was 4 for 4 with four runs and three RBIs, Emily Owens was 3 for 3 with two runs and four RBIs, Sophie Ellison had four RBIs and Julie Guess had two runs.
On the mound for SoHi, Miah Mead gave up 14 runs and nine hits in 2 1-3 innings while walking nine and striking out one. Isabelle Cruz gave up nine runs on seven hits in 2 1-3 innings while walking six and striking out two.
At the plate, Emily Hinz had two runs, Bailey Conner had two runs and three hits, Brook Fischer was 3 for 3 with four RBIs, Cruz had two runs, Makynzi Deborski had two runs, and Kiara Forkner had two runs.
