The visiting Homer softball team moved to 2-2 in the Northern Lights Conference and 7-13 overall with a 14-0 victory over Kenai Central in four innings Tuesday. The Kardinals fall to 1-2 and 3-7.
Zoe Adkins was dominant on the mount for Homer, going all four innings and giving up just one hit while walking none and striking out nine.
At the plate for Homer, Kaylin Anderson was 2 for 3 with two runs, Becca Trowbridge was 2 for 3 with three runs, Adkins had two runs and Julie Guess had two runs.
Kyana Giriskevich took the loss for the Kardinals, pitching all four innings and giving up eight hits and 14 runs — just eight earned. She had eight walks and four strikeouts.
Maggie Grenier had the hit for the Kardinals.
