Homer softball tops Soldotna

The visiting Homer softball team moved to 5-2 in the Northern Lights Conference and 10-17 overall with a 15-4 victory in six innings over Soldotna on Tuesday at the Soldotna Little League fields. The Stars fall to 2-2 in the league and 5-6 overall.

Zoe Adkins went the distance to record the win for the Mariners. Adkins gave up four runs — three earned — on five hits while walking three and striking out six. She also went 3 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs at the plate.

Also for Homer, Ari Davis had three runs, Kaylin Anderson had four runs, Delilah Harris was 3 for 4 with three runs and five RBIs, and Emily Owens had three RBIs.

For the Stars, Miah Mead gave up seven runs in two innings and Isabelle Cruz gave up eight runs in four innings.

Brook Fischer had two hits and two RBIs for the Stars, while Emily Hinz and Lexi Stormo also had two hits. Hinz, Mead, Fischer and Cruz had the runs.
