Homer junior Dimitry Kuzmin was one of 20 hockey players from around the state to be named to the 2018 High School Hockey All-State team, which was released Tuesday by the Alaska High School Hockey Coaches Association.
Kuzmin, a junior forward, led the Mariners to a breakout 17-5-0 season and a second-place finish in the North Star Conference standings, racking up 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 19 games, which tied him for the team lead.
Homer was ultimately handed a 4-2 loss in the NSC semifinals, ending the Mariners’ season on the spot and that close to the program’s first state tournament appearance.
