Hutchings captures Mini Stock Dirty 30 at Twin City Raceway

Editor’s note: This story corrects the results of Mini Stock Heat 2. The Clarion regrets the error.

Jared Hutchings won the Mini Stock Dirty 30 on Saturday at Twin City Raceway in Kenai in an event put on by the Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions – Circle Track Division.

Hutchings, who also won Heat 1, raced to a dominant victory in a 30-lap race in which three were able to finish. The class started the day with 12 cars.

Also pulling off sweeps of both heats and the feature were Alex Schwochert in the Late Models and Clay Petersen in Modifieds.

For the Legends, Josh Boone took the feature and Heat 2, while Brent Roumagoux won Heat 1.

A Stock saw the most parity, with Jimmie Hale winning the feature, Ronnie McCormack taking Heat 1 and Jake Savely taking Heat 2.

The stock cars return to Twin City Raceway on Friday and Saturday, July 4 and 5, with the Mini Stock Skylar Thomas Lyon Memorial Race. Both days, the time trials are at 3 p.m. and racing commences at 5 p.m.
