Lydia Jacoby, a 2022 graduate of Seward High School, recently picked up several wins on the Mare Nostrum Tour.
May 17, Jacoby, swimming for the Seward Tsunami Swim Club, won the 100-meter breaststroke in Barcelona in 1 minute, 5.84 seconds.
May 18, Jacoby won the 200 breaststroke in Barcelona at 2:24.03. That swim set a new PR for Jacoby, whose previous best was 2:25.98, according to swimswam.com.
May 20, Jacoby won the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 5.99 seconds.
According to swimswam.com, the 1:05.84 is Jacoby’s fastest since the 2021 Olympics, where she won the gold medal. That time also is the third fastest in the world this season.
