The Soldotna hockey team improved to 3-0 in the Railbelt Conference with a 1-0 victory over Juneau-Douglas on Saturday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.
Josh Tree shut the Crimson Bears (6-2 in conference) out on 22 shots as the Stars posted a shutout for the third straight game. Cody Mitchell saved 29 for Juneau.
Galen Brantley III had the game-winner with 13 minutes, 20 seconds, remaining in the game. The goal was unassisted.
Friday, Juneau had defeated Kenai Central 9-1 to keep the Kardinals winless on the season. Zach Burnett had the goal for the Kardinals, while Bailey Maxson notched the assist.
