Kenai Central graduate Jonah Theisen helped the distance medley at Black Hills State University to ninth place Friday at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
Theisen, a sophomore at the school in Spearfish, South Dakota, and his team finished in 9 minutes, 54.13 seconds, while Western Oregon won at 9:40.15.
Theisen was the final runner, covering 1,600 meters in 4:09.68. Kodiak graduate Levi Fried was the first runner and ran 1,200 in 3:00.75, then Mark Fruechte ran 400 in 50.21 and Chris Johnson ran 800 in 1:53.51.
