Kenai girls, Colony boys swimmers win Seward Invite

The Kenai Central girls and Colony boys won team titles Saturday at the Seward Invitational at Seward High School.

The Kardinals girls scored 77 points for a three-point victory over Region III rival Colony. Homer was fifth, Soldotna was sixth and Seward tied for seventh.

The Colony boys remained dominant, scoring 147 to top the 77 of runner-up Kenai. Soldotna was sixth and Seward was seventh.

The Kenai girls were led by Abigail Price. Price won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 0.23 seconds, to set a new pool record. She also won the 100 backstroke in 1:03.28.

Isla Crouse won the 500 free for Kenai in 5:54.69.

Price, Crouse, Sierra Hershberger and Ra’ah Roady also combined to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.59.

On the boys side, David Price led the Kards by winning the 200 individual medley in 2:12.98 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.08.
