The Kenai Central boys soccer team played to a scoreless tie Thursday with Ketchikan in nonconference action at Ed Hollier Field in Kenai. The Kardinals are now 5-4-2 overall.
Kenai coach Shane Lopez said it was a good, fast-paced game against a typical quality team from Southeast.
“We had our chances and opportunities,” Lopez said. “We put one off the post and a couple more just wide. We held strong on defense and limited opportunities.”
Lopez said Bridger Beck did a great job filling in at center back, while Daniel Shelden also was solid at that position. The coach said some players were missing due to a band concert, and that Koda Poulin actually hustled out to the field after the concert to play a solid game at center back.
