Kenai’s Parks takes 2nd straight Lost Lake Race

Kenai’s Jason Parks won the Lost Lake Run just outside of Seward on Saturday, Aug. 24, for the second year in a row.

Parks finished the scenic course, which is just over 15 miles long with about 2,500 feet of vertical gain and loss, in 1 hour, 50 minutes and 31 seconds. Soldotna’s Dan Serventi was second in 1:51:42.

Also in the top 10 in the men’s race from the peninsula was Kasilof’s Chase Laker in fifth at 2:00:50.

The women’s race went to Anchorage’s Anna Dalton in 1:52:02. Anchorage’s Taylor Deal, a 2012 graduate of Kenai Central, was second in 1:57:22.

Anchorage’s Julianne Dickerson, who was raised in the area and is a past Lost Lake champion, got seventh in 2:10:28, while Homer’s Amanda Cherok was 10th in 2:15:32.

The event benefits those living with cystic fibrosis and had 633 finishers.
