Soldotna senior Maddie Kindred became the latest Soldotna athlete to sign a letter of intent to play collegiate sports Wednesday when she signed with Northern Oklahoma College in Tunkawa.

Northern Oklahoma competes in Region II of the National Junior College Athletic Association, and was ranked 10th in the nation last year.

Kindred started as goalkeeper for SoHi as a sophomore after getting significant minutes her freshman year, and earned First-Team All-Conference status in 2016.

However, Kindred missed essentially her entire junior campaign due to ineligibility for playing for a prep team in Oregon. After graduating SoHi, Kindred will study as a pre-medical major and plans to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a medical degree.
