The visiting Kenai Central baseball team fell to 0-2 in the Southcentral Conference and 0-2 overall with a 14-11 loss to Kodiak on Friday.
The Kenai offense was able to bang out 10 hits, with leadoff hitter Owen Whicker leading the way by going 3 for 5 with three runs and an RBI. Jackson Marion was also 2 for 4 with two runs for the Kards, while Zane Pellegrom also scored a pair of runs.
The Kardinals hurt themselves with 10 errors.
Charlie Chamberlain got the start for Kenai and went four innings, giving up seven runs — none earned — on four hits while walking four and striking out three.
Kalani Beddow pitched 1 2-3 innings for Kenai and gave up eight runs — just one earned — on five hits while walking two. Pellegrom gave up a hit in a scoreless 1-3 of an inning.
