The Peninsula Oilers lost 6-0 to the Mat-Su Miners in an Alaska Baseball League game shortened by rain Friday at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
The game was called off in the bottom of the sixth, pushing the Miners to 22-10 and dropping the Oilers to 11-18.
The Anchorage Glacier Pilots remain in first place in the league at 20-6, while the Anchorage Bucs are in third at 15-14. The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks are still in last place at 5-25.
Chandler David was dominant in his start for the Miners, going five innings and striking out 10. Mason Brandenberger pitched a scoreless sixth for Mat-Su, pushing the Miners’ scoreless innings streak to 16 innings.
The Miners had one run in the first, two runs in the second and three runs in the third, with Steven Lancia blasting a home run in that inning.
Conner Kershaw took the loss for the Oilers, going five innings and giving up six runs — four earned — on seven hits while walking one and striking out three.
The Oilers stay on the road to play the Miners at 6 p.m. Saturday, the Chinooks at 4 p.m. Sunday and the Pilots at 7 p.m. Monday.
