The Peninsula Oilers let one slip away on the road Monday, falling to the host Mat-Su Miners 3-2 in 10 innings in Alaska Baseball League action.
The Oilers held a 2-0 lead in the contest, but the Miners came back late to tie the game and force it to extra innings.
In the 10th inning, the Miners loaded the bases with no outs on a walk and two infield errors.
After a strikeout, Angelo Armenta, who had struck out four times in the game, was able to lift a sacrifice fly to left field to win the game.
The loss is costly for the Oilers in the standings. Peninsula, at 9-10, falls three games behind the league leaders.
The Oilers stay on the road to face the Bucs tonight at 7 p.m.
