The North American Hockey League released its schedule for the 2020-21 season Thursday.
Chris Hedlund, general manager of the Kenai River Brown Bears, had already said the team will not return to Alaska until January.
Kenai River’s first game is Nov. 7 in Wisconsin against the Chippewa Steel.
The Bears have just five “home” games before January. Those games will be played at the Breezy Point Hockey Center in Minnesota.
Though obviously subject to change in this time of the new coronavirus pandemic, the schedule has the Brown Bears returning to the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex on Jan. 15 to face the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Bears will only leave the state once after returning home in January. There will be 19 home games packed into January, February, March and early April. The Bears also will make a pair of trips to Fairbanks during that time.
The NAHL Showcase, NAHL Top Prospects Tournament and the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship all will take place this season at dates to be announced in the near future.
