The Nikolaevsk and Seldovia volleyball teams advanced to the championship bracket after Thursday’s pool play at the Mixed 6 state volleyball tournament at Dimond High School in Anchorage.
The first day of the tournament featured pool play with four pools. The top two in each pool moved to the championship bracket. Both Nikolaevsk and Seldovia finished 1-1 in their pools to advance. Nikolaevsk lost to Tanalian 2-0 before topping Akiachak 2-0. Seldovia beat St. Mary’s 2-0 and lost to Gustavus 2-0.
Today in the championship bracket, Tanalian takes on Seldovia at 10:45 a.m. and Nikolaevsk faces Unalakleet at 12:30 p.m.
