The Ninilchik girls basketball team used a late comeback to defeat host Kenai Central’s C team 32-29 on Monday.
The Wolverines improved to 4-6 by improving to 2-1 against Kenai’s C team.
The Kardinals led nearly the whole way, up 8-4 after a quarter, 14-6 at halftime and 18-13 after the third quarter. The game was tied at 28 with 12 seconds left before Rebecca Okonek hit four foul shots to push the Wolverines ahead.
Okonek paced Ninilchik with 14 points, while Jade Robuck had nine, Autumn Calabrese had seven and Mia Denboer had two.
